6 weeks old and team work

Yesterday marks 6 weeks for a our little guy!
He is doing great, a little bump in the road on Monday when we decided to finally go see the doctor after a lingering cough. Turns out he has an ear infection in his right ear. So lots of cuddling and nursing as we get through all of this. We did weigh him and he is right at 11lbs. Such a good eater.
The weather has been beautiful. Last night the boys went out to mow and next thing I see is Bridger is on Ben's shoulders helping with the mowing. Probably not the safest but when one parent has one child the other parent just picks up where need be. Love those boys!

I think all the on and off sleeping over the course of 6 weeks has finally caught up with me. I am exhausted today. I even took a little nap but when I woke up I was more tired then before I laid down. Hoping that tonight we get to bed early.

Chatbooks

This week I received 5 chatbooks from my Instagram account.

It was like Christmas after flipping through all the pictures. In today's age we don't print off 4x6 's like my mom did and put them into albums so to have these pictures that I snap with my phone in little albums for my boys is fantastic and the best part....they are only $6 for 60 pictures in each album!

So if your Instagram blows up with pictures all the time you will understand why! I am building my boys' photo albums!

Here is a code for you to use to order your first free book! Enjoy

farm to table

There's no denying the fact that city life has its perks but what we have discovered over the last month in our little area is a hidden gem. They do say Idaho is the "Gem State"!

From the milk man that comes early (before the sun rises) to drop off our fresh milk to the farm fresh eggs that we discovered tonight on our family walk. We are excited about the natural farm fresh stuff in our backyard. (Okay not literally but pretty darn close.)

And my goodness have you ever seen anything so cute. Sure the eggs are a little pricey but the beauty that they exude is fantastic. The pastels are to die for. If I could have chickens I would! Let's not forget about the fact that tomorrow we are going to have fresh eggs for breakfast in the morning! HELLO.

Ben and I dream one day of owning our little slice of heaven aka. farm house on a few acres, but until that day actually comes this will work!

What a great way to cap off the night and wrap up the week. Spring is here and we are thrilled.

Movie

We attempted our first family movie on Saturday at the village.
We went and saw Monkeys (disney) and I thought for sure this would entertain Bridger, little did I know that there would be some scary parts that even I cringed at.
The sister monkeys were one thing that freaked us both out. Their faces are red and they are not nice to the other monkeys. Not exactly the example you want your child to see.
Anyways after overcoming the shock and calming bridge down, he insisted that he needed to go the bathroom, so off daddy went with him. Colter woke up for his evening fussy feeding time. I guess we didn't plan that so well. Although it was tough to keep bridge from wanting to go half way through we managed to make it through the entire movie, thank goodness because that little outing cost a pretty penny. I forgot how expensive going to the theater was and know with our little family it cost even more.

We enjoyed our weekend otherwise. Soccer game, windows outside are washed, lots of snuggle time with our baby,mo and of course the ACM awards are on right now as I am typing this too- perfect way to cap off the night.

Colt's 1month

Today marks 1 month.
Happy, but sad at how quickly the time is going by.
I read a quote on someone's IG that somes up these days, "the nights are long, but the years will pass by fast."

Colter is a growing little boy.
I am guessing he is close to 10pounds based on our scale.
His newborn diapers are about gone and I am finding it difficult to zip some of his outfits up without a little stretch. Who would've guessed!

Colter is a very loud baby.
Doesn't cry a lot unless he is hungry or wants to be held, but the loudness of his grunting is something to hear.
He certainly is a little gassy but he does this grunt when he is sleeping.... All night long! Just ask the parents!

He is a cuddly baby, loves to be rocked and held.
He is mild manner, Bridger's loud noises and sometimes tantrums don't phase him either.
He isn't a pacifier baby like his brother, although we have tried many since he seems to enjoy hanging on the breast.

At this point Colt hates being in the car. I can only take him in the car for one trip at a time, without a complete melt down.
Adjusting to motherhood to two kids has been a easy transition, I'm sure it will be more difficult when I go back to work in the fall but the normal day to day operations seems to be going well. Certainly helps that I have a wonderful husband to help , I can't imagine doing it on my own.

the busy life

So much to catch up.
The days feel like they are flying this time around.
It's true when they say that by the time the second babe comes around you have less time to take pics and blog. However i am still trying to takes lots of pictures, the blogging part has been the hold up though.

Colter is growing like crazy.
I swear every day I pick him up and he feels heavier.
He is filling out his cute little cheeks and looking more and more like Bridger did when he was his age.
Tomorrow I will blog about his one month. As I type that I get a little teary eyed.

What have we been up to over the last few weeks.
Well we are keeping busy with soccer, the weather *when it is nice out and of course trying to get both boys on somewhat of a schedule. Or lack there of.

Thankfully we are surviving.
I love being a mother to another baby boy.
I didn't know that my heart could love more, everyone told me it was possible but I just couldn't wrap my mind around it.
It's true your heart has more room to love and I wish I could savor all these moments and put them away in a bottle.
All the newborn cues and awes are so amazing. I love staring into Colter's eyes and just talking to him.
We have mastered breastfeeding to a T! That was my number one goal this go around. Now I just have to maintain my supply and continue when I go back to work in August.

We are busy discussing the garden layout, planning summer vacays, and thinking about how to entertain a 3 year old. Soccer has been the best thing for Bridger, he LOVEs and even the word loves doesn't do it justice. He cries every time practice or the game is over. He wants to play all the time. Have I mentioned how exhausting having a three year old. OMG no body called three the terrible threes it was two's is what I heard. Talk about attitude and defiance. Boy do we have our work cut out.

Grandma Parsons birthday was on Tuesday. We took her out to dinner, however someone stopped by and surprised us all with his appearance and of course stole the show for Bridger. His uncle Bill stopped by after a meeting as we were all getting ready to go. It worked out perfectly thought, I went outside and fee Colter and Bridger and the crew had a little extra time to chat before they headed out to go home.

We visited the new library in town. Lets just say it is beautiful. I appreciate old historic building but having toddler sing and dance class in the basement was a little crowded but now at the new library it is on the main floor and the design is one to check out. I feel like if I didn't have kids I would be spending lots of time with a cup of coffee cozyed up on the couches just sifting through books to read. It is wonderful!

Here's to a great weekend and hopefully lots of rest.

Easter 2015

Our first Easter as a family of four!
We had a beautiful, relaxful, first and third Easter with the little boys.
Colt was dressed in his first Easter outfit. Which was so cute!
Bridger brought his soccer ball, and soccer goal with him (I suppose it was a good idea to get a truck, right? for these types of things.)
Daddy and I stopped for a coffee on our way out to Gma and Gpa's.

We arrived on time; a miracle I tell you!
Daddy smoked the ham. Delicious!
The Easter bunny stopped by both our house and dropped off a basket full of goodies for the dinner table for Bridger. A place mat, silverware, bowl, plate and a new camp cup with a swirly straw!
There were eggs hidden and a little 3 year old excited to find them all.

When we reach Gma and Gpa's the cousins were already there eagerly awaiting the boys arrival.
There was Colter snuggle time, Bridger play time and adult grown up time had by all.
The kids were awesome! Of course we have a little snappy 3 year old that likes to test the limits especially with no nap so it was a bit of a bumpy road here and there.

Dinner was served around 1pm and it was delicious. I had help from both Gpa and Becky both with serving me and cutting my dinner for me. I was a little preoccupied feeding Colter and getting him to sleep. It definitely takes a village to raise a kiddo!

Not to be forgotten about was of course Gma's famous "bunny fluff." I passed this year but my husband and oldest boy made up for me!

Of course there was Easter egg hiding both by the adults and by the kids.
There was the traditional annual Easter Parsons Picture! This time the timer was set extra long so everyone could take there place and pose!

The Parsons family picture is growing and it is exciting to watch the love that we all have continue to grow. 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
This years Easter was one to remember and a special one for our newest member of the family, Mr. Colter Ray Parsons.

Happy Easter!
