A girls night out

Last Saturday night was a wonderful time. One of my dear friends is getting married in two short weeks and she went out in style Saturday night. We celebrated, laughed a lot, (some) drank a lot, and the love and happiness was ever so present for her. I miss nights out like this, but I am quickly reminded how much I miss my boys too. It wasn't quite 8pm (the party started at 6:30) and I got a call from Ben saying they were on their way home from grandma's and Bridge was already missing me. Love that little boy! Although I had planned to go down town for the after party I could barely keep my eyes open. I called it a night around 9:30pm before they all headed down town and hurried home to kiss my boys goodnight and finish watching the football games. Love my girls! So fun!

Busy the new normal

I am slacking a bit when it comes to my weekly post. I'm sure most people can relate when their old summer schedule turns to the new school year schedule. So what has been life like since that new schedule has started?

Well I find myself powering through the work day and crashing once I change out of my work clothes into my pajamas. It's pretty safe to say all three of us ( dad, bridge and me) feel this way. Of course we have had to find the balance in our work life and home life. Last week we noticed an increase in Bridger's tiredness from the time he came home till the time we would have to wrestle to wake him out of bed, thus was in part that Ben and I were both putting in at least 10 hour days at work. Taxing on a little guy at daycare for that long, not to mention the guilt factor for the parents as well.

So we sat down and decided that in order for us all to me in harmony we would need to figure out a new schedule so that Bridge was at daycare for the least possible amount of time. This meant mama is leaving later in the morning so he gets dropped off 5 till 8am and gets picked up shortly after 4pm. Thus cutting out a solid two hours. He seems so much happier, still tired but not nearly the naughty tired behaviors.

Last weekend Ben headed out to Elk camp to go hunting with Grandpa. The story of their weekend is one not to ever forget, very eventful! Unfortunately I have yet to convince him to type it into a blog post! So will sum it up with yes they did get an elk and after many I mean many hours they made it back to camp. I believe last count I heard the hauled out roughly 180 pounds of elk meat.

Bridge started swim lessons again! Definitely the highlight of his weekend! It's another parent and tot program so we are excited to watch his progression. Last week he could blow bubbles, use his scoops and kick! Big accomplishment from last years swim lessons.

That's a wrap for now! Enjoy the weekend!

The fast pace life

We are busy.
No other way to describe our life right now.
It was great to have a three day weekend last week, however with that means more to cover and get done in order to stay on track with our schedules.
Master classes have begun, swim lessons are about to start, and of course the the demanding needs that are required to be successful at work!
We did have my dad and Athena out last weekend! We grilled, watched a ton of football, naps a lot, sneaked in a run to Costco, and even managed many games of football and baseball! Grandpa was in heaven!
Ben and I installed some more blinds in our master bedroom to help block out the light the seems to linger much linger then we would like.
Although busy and exhausted are days are seeming much closer to my favorite season...  fall!
Bring on the crisp air, yummy smells, pumpkins, mums, cute clothes, and chili!
