THE SLIDE

Bridger did the slide all by himself at our park yesterday! This is a huge accomplishment.  Way to go big boy!

Enjoy!

which wich?

Today after Music and Me Bridger and I headed out to try a new sandwich shop located in the soon to be fabulous outdoor mall "The Village." P.S. Which I am so EXCITED about, great shops are going to be right at my finger tips:)

Which Wich was GREAT!
For $12 we got a kids meal which included a grill cheese sandwich, your choice of bread, cheese and crust, a drink and a roll up and also my adult meal which was the surf and turf! Yum.

You customize your own sandwich all the way!

We met the owner who

bought our drinks for us just because and loved on Bridger! We enjoyed sitting on their patio and chatting with daddy for a little while on the phone.

Overall rating! Excellent. Go check them out.

drab to fab

Ben called me on Monday from work and said that they were going to take some teak furniture that they are no longer using at the office to the Goodwill and wanted to know if I was interested in it.

Of course!

Now it was time for the creative juices to flow and figure out how I was going to use 9 office chairs, a long conference table that expands, a futon and a coffee table.

Ummmmmm.............................

School!

That's where I was going to use it. I knew that the I wanted to have a comfy reading area, and I also wanted to have better access to my students for small groups near my new SMARTboard. So I took it ALL.

When Ben delivered them I knew I had to do something to them. They were boring, muted tones and not fun at all. I could see why no one wanted them in their office. But then I had an idea. Reupholster them.

After several trips to Hobby Lobby using the baby, and my husband as customers so we could all use a 40% off coupon (I think we went 4 days in a row), I need 9 different one yard fabrics and 6 5/8ths yard for the futon,  we ended up with beautiful fabric.

The project as with any had a few hiccups, like having TOO big of staples in the staple gun and it jamming every 5x, we finally finished the chairs, made a few pillows and spent our Saturday putting the chairs back together.

This week I have to get the couch cushions reupholster. This will be a little bit more time consuming, so I will be working on these in the evening when the Bridge man goes to sleep.

Happy Sunday!

Bull Trout 2013

Timeless tradition, once again we headed up to Bull Trout for our Annual Camp Trip with the Parsons' Crew.

Once again memories were made and stories will be told the rest of the year about "the trip to bull trout this year."

We were headed out to camp on Friday when Grandpa called to tell us that they were in Idaho City stuck because his car won't start after he had turned it off to get gas. Two hours later and thankful that Uncle Bill was right behind them the set off with a fresh new car battery and headed up to camp. As we pulled onto the dirt road that lead us to our camp ground a few hours after them we were welcomed with a few forest fires burning just 7.5 miles away from camp.

Did that stop us though, O NO!
We arrived to these cheerful little ladies. They had buckets in hand and were ready to play with their cousin and Bridger was REALLY excited to play with them.

Meanwhile we unloaded the cars, Grandma was working on cooking the roast and everyone else was setting up tents, blowing up mattresses and prepping for the evening to come.
Uncle Bill made a barricade so that Bridger won't get to close to the fire.

The girls shared their new mattresses with Bridger and told him everything he needed to know about camping. It was pretty fun to listen to the conversations that they were having.

Next it was dinner time and boy did our Bridger boy eat. Between enjoying the corn on the cob, grandma's carrots and a little roast with lots of ketchup he had a full belly.

After dinner it was off to look at the lake.
Well look was probably the first original thought, but.... that didn't last long. Before I could say NO NO Bridge, he had jumped right into the water with both feet and started splashing around.

Yep! That's would be our boy. The only shoes we bring for him and wouldn't you know he gets them soaking wet and loves every bit of it.

Back to camp we went for jammies and s'mores! Of course Bridger wasn't quite ready so he decided that dumping dirt all over him would taste really good.
 Whoops, not so much!

The moon appeared quick and before we knew it it was time to pack into our tents and say good night!

Goodnight!
Well Good Morning Bull Trout thanks for a 40 degree night. We were bright eyed and bushy tail the next morning. The night was a little on the chilly side and when you have been exposed to 100+degree weather in the valley it's hard for your mind to wrap around the fact that you will be sleeping in a tent and need to pack accordingly. Besides the fact that we couldn't find the mattress for the truck tent and we didn't pack enough blankets, we were so thankful that grandpa took care of us and brought an extra mattress and uncle bill gave us another blanket.
Baby slept pretty well for the most part, however he was probably a close second to being up first in camp. Grandpa took that prize!

We all got around to getting up and we were treated to Uncle Bill's huckleberry pancakes, eggs and bacon.

The cousins played and played and played. They were inseparable! So much fun!

Mommy Audrey did such a great job helping Bridger at ALL times! She was the best at taking personal care of his (ME ME (pacifier)) and always washing it when it would fall down.
Nat Nat loved to run and play tough with Bridger. Here they are a playing doggy! Bridger was pulling Nat as they ran around camp.
Once again mommy Audrey was helping both kids down the hill to the water.
There's my beautiful god-daughter enjoying the water!

 Hi cuties!
 The cousins 2013 Bull Trout!
Bridger just loved moving those blue chairs around! At time he even enjoyed a bit of time out for picking them up over his head and trying to run and throw them.

After breakfast was over and everyone changed into their fishing gear I heard a little sweet voice come up behind me and as "Aunt Lanna can you braid my hair?" She wanted a french braid and she sat very still the whole time, never once screaming because I was pulling tight or because we were brushing out her snarls. Here's the little fisher girl's finished hair do! She's ready to catch a big one!

Everyone headed out fishing and Bridger and I tried to accompany daddy but it was just too much. Bridger needed a nap, a diaper change and Gabby was not be helpful by jumping in right where daddy was trying to fish. So we headed back to camp to get ready for a nap. Between all the huge horse flies, the hot sun baking in our tent and having to move to grandma and grandpa's we finally took a bottle ready Brown Bear, Brown Bear and fell asleep.

By the time we woke up everyone had made it back to camp, enjoying lunch and sharing their fishing stories.

After lunch it was on to the beach for a fun afternoon of sandcastles, swimming, splashing and stand up paddle boarding.

After all the beach activity was finished we headed back up to camp to get ready for dinner. Grandpa read to the kids while daddy and I were in charge of dinner for the night.

The dinner for Saturday night was homemade mac and cheese using the dutch oven over coals! I was unsure how it would turn out as this was my first time ever doing this and using a recipe that I found online. The only mishap that occurred was that I read how much butter and I read the line for milk, so thankfully daddy asked, "are we suppose to have that much butter, that looks like too much? Yep sure enough, we were able to save it and dump out the excess!!! It turned out great and yummy!

After dinner was over and Bridger was extremely fussy and would not go down at all! Not Fun. Daddy made the call and decided it would be best for us to pack up and head home. In the end it was the right call, Bridger was asleep by the time we pulled out of the camp ground. He slept the whole way home without ever waking up.

We had a great time and another great trip with The Parsons' crew up at Bull Trout!
