book worm

We are gearing up to go on our big road trip across America (well not really across the whole U.S.A but it will sure feel like it by the time we get to our final destination (18 hours).

Can't get enough of those baby blue eyes!
Are we crazy... YEAH we are but I wouldn't have it any other way. We may be load down with two adults, one baby (3.5 months old) and dog all in one tiny car but that's when memories are made. I'm just grateful Ben didn't want to camp in the back of the pickup this year. Wouldn't that have been a sight to see.
Rolling around!

I wanted to quickly mark down a few things before we leave about Bridger:
Laughing and smiling all day long.

  • He is 15 weeks old.
  • loves sucking his thumb (he has FOUND IT)
  • Today we finally got him to actually laugh in excitement, not just a high pitch scream
  • loves to stand up with mamas assistance
  • blowing lots of raspberry's

  • back to sleeping through the night (up for a quick feed around 3am)
  • #1 necessity for mom and dad is "baby got colic" music. calms him right down and puts him to sleep when he fights us
  • still hates sitting in his car seat by himself. is okay when someone is in the back with him, but if not he only last about 15 minutes before a huge melt down.

On another note today we were packing and i just couldn't help myself.
Bridger was trying on mommy's glasses so I started to snap away. He was as happy as could be. My little bookworm. Grandpa Parsons got him the Black and White Rabbit ABC book and he LOVES it. We leave it in the car so when Dad drives, Mommy can read to him and he loves the page where Rabbit lands on G. G for Glue, Rabbit spills the glue and gets all messy. Lots of squealing!!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Parsons ~ We love you!!!!

part 2 and a first swim

Bridger and I treated Ben to a yummy delicious brunch at Murphy's followed by an afternoon of swimming.

Part 2 of Father's day weekend continued as plan on Sunday
Daddy had the luxury of changing a blowout diaper on Father's Day in the morning.

Boys being boys
Daddy opening up his gifts.
This was Bridger's first time swimming in a pool and what better way to finish off celebrating our wonderful daddy then to go swimming.
All ready to go!
The water was a little cold but he hung out with all of us and was a great boy.

 Bridger did great.
He even managed to get comfy and nap on the big lounger for a solid 2 hours.
Soooo tired

Enjoying the afternoon

Part 1

Happy Father's Day to all the father's out there. Friday we started the celebration of Father's Day weekend for Ben. Bridge and I took him out to dinner at Outback Steak House!!! If you know my husband then you know he loves a good steak. This is the first year that we have had the privilege to celebrate father's day for our amazing husband and daddy!!! Bridger is so lucky to have such a wonderful man in his life to show him and guide him threw the world of life.

Today we all got up and decided to spend some quality bonding time snuggling in our PJ's and not getting out of bed till 9am. Bridger is very chatty and so we both got to love on him all morning.

Then it was off to Steve's Cafe for one of the best breakfast I have ever had. Ben order huckleberry lemonade and an omelet and I had a breakfast burrito. There menu was to die for and I can't wait to go back and be a little more adventurous and try some other things.

When we got home Bridger and I took a 3 hour long nap and daddy got caught up on his tv shows. Then it was off to Old Navy to do a little shopping before we head back to Omaha. Daddy got to stay home while I took the baby and enjoy a nice long nap.

We got home and I had more planned for the day so it was off to shower and get dressed. We headed over to a friends house to have a few drinks and then off we went to daddy's favorite place of all time.... Les Bois (horse track). Daddy won a race so we broke even for the night and everyone was in good spirits.

So far this father's day has been a great one and we are so blessed to spend everyday with our son Bridger. Happy Father's Day!!!

Part 2 to continue.....

The lazy Sunday's

It might not be officially summer yet but around here we are antsy and ready for the pool.

Here are few pictures from our impromptu photo shoot of Bridger's summer pool attire. Enjoy!

Today has been one of those lazy Sundays. Dad is watching baseball, Mom is getting caught up on her sleep and baby boy is doing a combination of both. More fussy then normal so I am guessing that it might be a growth spurt again. He is fighting his sleep more then normal and going through milk like crazy.

We left the house this morning to head to the grocery store and I wish I would have gotten a picture of the donuts that we bought. They were great and they were HUGE. The name: TEXAS!!! They say everything is bigger in Texas and boy were they right. These donuts were enormous.

A few things to document about Bridger:
  • Loves his fist and fingers. At times when I am trying to feed him he gets those things in his mouth and get MAD when nothing happens.
  • When he is overly tired he will arch his back and throw his head and in complete melt down. There are only a few ways to cure this. Daddy has the best hold and will "shhh" him to sleep and if dad's not home he goes to his swing and instantly that will sooth him.

49 degrees

Wow this weather has been crazy lately. Today it was 49 degrees and rainy all day. We spent the morning over at Grandma and Grandpa  Parsons since most of the garage sales were rained out.

When we got there Ben looked through the paper and found that the Northfork Whitewater
Championships were going on today up past Banks, so off we went to catch it.
Sleeping hard on our way up there.
Love spur of the moment adventures with my boys.
Look at those cute lips.
Daddy and Bridge in his Bear Suite
Mommy and Bridge
We had blast and Bridger did great. It was packed full of people and even though we weren't able to get to the waters edge there was still so much excitement going on from up top.
All the excitement building

Lots of colors
I've got to hand it to those guys, it was freezing cold and raining the entire time we were there and they were still going at it. Here are some pictures from the day. Enjoy!

 Have a great Sunday!
Time to go home!
