Yep, that was far too easy.
Of course we seem to have one accident a day but that is mostly my part for not taking him when I know he has to go.
But that's it.
We don't wear diapers.
We haven't had any accidents during nap time.
And today we ventured outside of the home and went to the zoo.
He peed in the park at the public restroom close to the Rose Garden.
Then he peed at the zoo.
Of course I hate public restrooms and he was a little hesitant himself sitting on a cold toilet that didn't have his special ducky seat, but we managed and he went!
I heard that when the kid is ready he/she will let you know and that is exactly what happened.
I didn't have many expectations and many friends said that it takes a lot longer to potty train boys so I wasn't holding my breath.
Seems strange not changing a diaper but we are excited to end this chapter and begin a new one.
One to many more adventures and milestones.
Off to the zoo we went.
First it was a stop at the Rose Garden.
I have never been, it was beautiful. Bridger loved the fountain and of course he some how managed to find a horse to go look at.
There in the back of the garden stood a statue of a horse from the Boise Art Museum.
After a quick look it was off to the zoo.
We took a quick left right when we entered the zoo.
Wouldn't you know his favorite thing would be this giraffe slide.
I swear we could have spent the entire day just going down the slide.
After a little distraction and quick hustle around the jungle we quickly made it to his second favorite attraction.
The petting zoo.
He loved feeding the goats.
I think they loved him too.
We saw lots of animals including a favorite of mine...the zebras.
So pretty.
We did a mother son date on the carousel ride and then it was back out to the front where we saw a beautiful crane. (can't remember the exact name).
The weather was perfect and Bridger did such a great job.
Next it was off to have a lunch date with Daddy at our favorite restaurant Flat Bread.
Bridge made his own pizza.
Mommy and Daddy tried to have a semi adult conversation before all hell broke loose with Bridge and he began to have a major melt down. Never before have we had such a screaming melt down.
Talk about embarrassing.
Off to the car mommy and Bridger went.
Wouldn't you know it that as I was giving Bridger "the talk" one of Ben's co-workers (Dayson) walks by and kindly asks, "I think Ben's upstairs do you want me to go get him?"
So sweet but I kindly rebuttal back, "no that's okay he is actually inside at the restaurant I am just giving Bridger little life lesson called THAT IS NOT OKAY TO SCREAM IN A PUBLIC RESTAURANT!"
Shortly thereafter we went back in and he was a whole new boy.
Embarrassing, YES!
Necessary, ABSOLUTELY!
The parenting thing never seizes to amaze me.
Just when I think I have it figured out I am thrown a curve ball, literally.
So........Here's to living life and hoping I don't screw up on this whole parenting thing.
