We were busy!
Daddy enjoyed pampering(or maybe it was just me who thought I was pampering him :) either way we showered him with love, time, and lots of adventure.
First it was off to the Emmett Cherry Festival.
This was something that we had on bucket list of things to do while living in Idaho. So we can now say we have checked that box.
It wasn't quite what we had expected. Lots of carnival rides, which Bridger loved. But there was a lack of cherries anywhere except one food booth to be found.
So instead we rode rides, Bridger and daddy were thrilled that they had pony rides so of course we had to do that. Might I add we have a little cowboy at heart. He took to that pony like it was no ones business.
We watched some clogging and enjoy a pronto puff and ice cold lemonade.
Then we headed back out of town and stop at a pull off on the side of the highway were a nice old farmer was selling his produce. He told us his story about how he just came back from his farm where he picked more cherries because they have been running out of them all day. He told us how he ships his best cherries to Japan since they pay a premium and out in California cherries are selling for $5.50 a pound. Here in Idaho he said they were going for $3ish a pound. We were lucky that we came when we did because he had two boxes left and we snatched the last few and enjoyed some on our way home and saved some for Gma and Gpa.
Next it was off to the Nampa Twilight Critrium. Just like Boise only a lot less crowded. We enjoyed yummy pizza on the side of the street, I got to antique shop a little bit in the stores downtown and Bridger managed to get a sword balloon all the while the bike races were happening. Very exciting to have these types of events in our town too. Of course we ran into some of my students, Bridger's teacher Rea, and people watch like you wouldn't believe.
Sunday it was a quick nap followed by a lovely BBQ at Gma and Gpa's house for Father's day. Even though it was chilly, sprinkled some, rained a little the sun finally came out and the afternoon was lovely. We chatted about all things garden, caught up with what was going on in every one's day to day life.
Daddy was exhausted by the time we came home but rallied and we even managed a best ball game out back on the golf course to end our weekend.
