part 1 of Father's Day

Last night we headed to our first Hawks baseball game of the year. Hilton, one of Ben's friends, use to play for them and called the manager for the team and got us tickets. Not just tickets but prime tickets, the kind that are only reserved for pitchers who are not pitching for the game because of injury, time or other circumstances. Right behind home plate. When we went to show the usher our tickets he said, "well this can't be right, they aren't suppose to sell these seats, these ones are reserved." We informed him that although they were reserved they were given to us by the manager. He was able to understand after we told him the situation. But boy was he determined to not seat us there. Ha!

Bridger was so ecstatic about going to the baseball game. He insisted on taking his own bat. We let him in the car but had to explain to him that we don't bring it into the ball park.

When we got there Ben filled me in on the number for draft pick for the MLB, who is the catcher on the Hawks team. He explain to me that typically they have them start out at the lower league and then they call them up when there season starts going. We stayed till the top of the seventh inning. Later we found out via the newspaper that this guy in particular hit a home run to score a winning game of 4-2.

Although it was a little chilly compared to Thursday's high of 91 we dressed in jackets, ate hot dogs, pizza and pretzels and really had a great time at the ball park.

Bridger yelled "go Hawks" several times...super cute, even managed to slip in "go huskers" a time or two. Ummm I wonder where he has heard that? and loved all the activity in the ball park, including the "monster" as he calls it (which was actually the mascot) he just couldn't figure out how to exactly say that word.

Great way to start off the celebration of Father's Day.
