Childhood memories

We have been busy the last few days.
Growing up I can remember my parents taking me downtown for a special dinner, usually at The Spaghetti Factory, and then we would head over to the "BIG SLIDES."

Yesterday we woke up early, got ready and headed out to see some of my childhood memories that I remembered and were fun when I was growing up. I knew Bridger would love the slides and walking down the Gene Leahey Mall was something that Ben and I have never done before.

The humidity was awful but we had the whole park to ourselves. Except for one couple who were out for a walk and stopped and asked where we were from.

Clearly, by what my husband was wearing , long sleeve button up and jeans, the knew we probably were from around here.
They were very nice and played a little bit with Bridger on the frog.

Following the slides we walked down to the big fountain where we ran into Mother Goose and all her little babies. Bridger started talking to "Mother Goose" although she was quite anxious about us being so close. So off we went to explore some more.

We had made lunch plans to visit Gaga up at her office and we had little extra time to kill so we headed up to the Durham Heritage Museum. We learned a great deal about the original train station and had a chance to walk through some vintage old train cars that were once in operation.

Daddy and Bridge did a few experiments with steam and pistons and then it was off to continue our tour of the Native Americans. The museum was great, unfortunately we didn't have enough time to sit and slowly walk through it. It is something that we look forward to going back and doing again when Bridger is a little older.

It's been great sharing the days with my family and doing lots of exploring and watching the curiosity through Bridger's eyes. We are having lots of fun and enjoying every moment of vacation.
