4th of July

Fourth of July

Happy Birthday to Kaela and Grandma.
What a day it was!
We party!
We celebrated!
We ate and drank!
We laughed!
We blew things up!
Some loved it and one little boy hated it!

Bridger absolutely does not like fireworks at all.
Lesson learned.
We all took rotating turns inside the house with him Friday night because he was so scared and upset.
My mom said that when Dustin was his age he was the same way.

The day started off at the Culbertson 4th of July Parade!
It was exactly what I imagined a small town parade in the midwest to be. There were no political signs and advertisements. There were no controversial floats. It was straight up good wholesome fun.
Town folks showed off their classic cars, atvs, semi’s and all the church ladies and their red hats were so excited to toss candy and wave. Of course the Rodeo Queen was there on her beautiful horse which Bridger was so excited to see and there was even a little reenactment of independence day with a real canon. SO LOUD
I think we walked away with at least 10 lbs of candy!

After the parade it was onto naps and golf for the big boys!
The girls headed to lunch and then up to the cemetery to visit Grandpa Mackey.
This was really special to me. I don’t think I have been up there since we had Bridger and what a great way to honor the special people in our lives.

Shortly after that we all meet up at Fullers for dinner where more family arrived.
Jims kids Chris and Michelle and their families made it all the way from North Carolina. Bridger instantly made new friends with Teddy and Erin (Michelle’s kids). They were inseparable.
So cute.

Dinner ended and fireworks began!!! I will let the pictures do the talking. Except for the fact that within an hour of our fireworks starting a MAJOR thunderstorm rolled it and we had to call it a night!
