We arrived in McCook on Thursday after a long car ride in the church van. The babies didn’t not want to nap, particularly my child, and therefore there was much more screaming and crying from a little boy who was tired of traveling. However, we made it.
We stayed at the Chief Motel and got checked right when we rolled into down. As luck would have it Bridger fell asleep right as we arrived into town. Meanwhile back at the “ranch” as my Uncle Jim would say other family members were arriving. So after a quick nap and a little swim in the pool we loaded up to go see everyone.
Bill, Heather, Jim, Jane and Patrick were all over at Grandma’s House hanging out like we use to do out on the front porch. Bridger and Kallan had a great time playing with Ursula and Bella the two dogs. Quickly there after we headed to the nursing home to see Grandma.
I’m pretty sure she was surprised at all of us being there. She looked good. It was definitely hard to see her in a wheelchair and she didn’t recognized anyone but Jim and mom so that was really hard for me but I was very impressed at how well she did for being on the cusp of 100 years old.
We said our hello’s and then headed off to the famous Mac’s Drive in for dinner. Between the hamburgers, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, sodas, and everything else in between we managed to put a slight dent into their menu! But you can’t go to McCook without going to Mac’s...is such a staple.
After dinner we stopped to pick up a few essential items that we forgot at wal-mart and I was blown away when we came outside by the sunset. Beautiful!
