mommy and son date

try not to mind my capital/shift key, Bridger did something to it ;0

today we checked out a few activities that we had on our to-do-list to try before summer came.

first, we went to the bank and then it was off to bagels for a mommy and son date! o how I love those. he is so alert and anytime someone walked by he waved to them and had a little conversation. there weren't too many people that stayed but there were two old men having coffee and bagels and Bridger thought it would be a good idea to noisy up with his egg and make friends. too cute.

next it was off to target to get a new vacuum. of course what's not a trip to target with out roaming the isles!

then we headed to our first destination..... the library. I had heard great stuff about the different programs that they offer to kids so we decided to check it out.

FANTASTIC!

Teaching 1st grade I wasn't sure exactly what the lesson would be for the age group of 0-3 year olds so as I sat back and watched my curiosity grew more and more. There was never a dual moment, and the teacher had the kids attention the entire time. I would say there was probably around 20 -25 people (adults and children) and all of the kids were ENGAGED!!! That word is probably the most important word known to teachers.

Bridger learned about different types of transportation and the way things move: there were three books that she read and in between each book she sang a song, introduced a new puppet, and/ or taught them a new move to go along with the story. It was great. (my capital key is now working!!!!)

There were two animals that greeted Bridger; the first one was Teddy the bear and he was a big brown bear. Bridger loved him, so much that he crawled right up to the lady as she was reading the story and wanted to sit on her lap. The next animal that came out to see the kids was Pinkie the flamingo. She helped teach the song, "The Wheels On The Bus."

At the end story time the teacher blew bubbles to the kids, which was a HIT!!! and then brought out a few of her toys to share. It was great sitting back and watching Bridger interact with all the kids. I was one proud mama. As we were getting ready to head to the car one little boy thought that there was something very interesting on the wall, it was red, in a box and had a lever that was just the right size. He decided to pull it! Off went the fire alarm:) O well! We sure had a great time.

Since the morning was still rainy and gloomy, we decided to hit up the Idaho aquarium. Ever since we saw the fish at the dentist office and when we went to Cabala's Bridger loves to point to them and have a little chat with each one that passes by.

Once we paid our admission we went through the doors and right away we were able to interact with the fish. It was pretty crowded since everyone is off for spring break, none the less we managed to interact with lots of different fish and we even splashed a bit, managing to get our sleeves all wet!

Bridger was greeted by a beautiful mermaid when we finished up the last part of our tour. I'm not sure if he was more interested in all the little fish below or if it was all the stuff that she was wearing, either way he was very happy and content just sitting on her lap.

Of course by the time we got home we had missed our morning nap so off to sleep Bridger went before we even made it home! We had a great day and look forward to taking daddy there sometime this summer.
