Another great Parsons' annual camping trip is in the books (or shall I say in the camera!)
This is 2012, 2013 and 2014!
This year Ben did it right and after much talk and discussion on how we were going to camp this year he did it right for his wife and treated her to "luxury in the woods" (as he and I called it!) Originally the plan was to rent an RV however, Ben got a phone call from Redline that the previous weekend the RV got a tree limb through the back window and they would be "hooking us up" with an up-grade. No problem right?
Wrong!
When he pulled into the driveway to pick Bridger and I up on Friday with a HUGE diesel truck (the owners) and a 28 foot toy rv hauler I almost died; "How in the world are we going to get this through the mountains and backed into our campsite?" He assured me that whatever happens we would make the best out of the situation and that we needed to just have fun!!!
That's exactly what we did the whole way up. Lots of lookers from other cars and people and lots of laughter as we trucked our way through the curvy mountain roads.
Finally a little after 8pm we pulled into Bull Trout Lake and parked the "circus" (that's what we called it "the circus is coming to town") and walked down to measure and scope out the sight to make sure it would fit.
Thankfully Uncle Bill was there and helped a lot and reassured Ben that indeed it would fit! I have to give props to my hubby for getting that trailer backed in and backed out quickly and without any issues! Way to go.
After all the other onlookers came by and all the cameras took pictures of the craziness we settled in for the night and unloaded!
It was QUICK!!! Which was awesome.
Bridger played hard with his cousin hard Friday night and by 10pm crashed.
Daddy stayed up late by the camp fire and chatted away with Grandma and Grandpa, Bill and Becky. Catching them up on all the exciting events that have happen over the last three weeks in our life. Meanwhile I finished up eating my plate that included grandma's famous dutch oven roast with potatoes. Yum!
Around 11pm Ben and I cuddled into bed and laid there with smiles on our face and grateful for a warm bed and little cute boy tucked between us. We didn't have to bundle with a bunch of layers because the trailer was warm enough that we didn't even have to put the heater on!
We all slept amazing and we were up around 7:30am the next morning and by what Bridger said, "lets go fishing!!!"seemed to be the anthem of the day. We ate a yummy breakfast made by Uncle Bill (Egg, Cheese and bacon Biscuit sandwiches) and then I dress the boys and sent them on their way to fish.
Meanwhile back at camp Becky (did I mention it was great to have Becky back in camp (after 6 years of not being up at camp she made her debut!) and I chatted, although I didn't get any reading in, catching up on all things. I could hear in the far distance my boy a few times having a mini melt down. Later I found out that all he wanted to do was through the line out and reel in. He could care less about catching a fish and reeling it in. Ha!
Within two hours the fishermen and fisher girls were back and had limited out on Idaho Rainbow Trout! No worries about what was for dinner!
It was time for lunch which included sandwiches and then down for a nice relaxing nap in the trailer. It was wonderful having all the amenities. Bridger and I washed our bodies in the shower to get all the dirt off and then laid down for our nap.
After nap time it was swim time. Daddy took Bridger and joined his cousins down by the bank and SUP'd for a while; something Bridger loves! I stayed in bed and enjoyed a nice nap all to myself. Glorious!!!
Shortly thereafter I joined them and the sup-ing continued.
Finally it was dinner time. Thanks Becky for frying the fish! I was in charge of the brats and helped with the corn.Rainbow Trout was for dinner of course there were some other options for the younger kids like brats and chorizos.
After dinner it was time for bike rides. It was great to take the Chariot that I won from the picture I submitted last year from Bull Trout around the lake with Bridger.
Before getting ready for bed it was time for s'mores. This was Bridger's favorite thing (I asked him last night what his favorite thing was and he said "cooking" s'mores). He roasted his marshmallow (sometimes a little close to the campfire) but nonetheless did a great job and made a great memory!
It was back to the camper for baths and brushing teeth and clean clothes before we headed to bed. This night we turned on the heater and we slept peacefully.
Sunday morning we all woke up, some took quick boat rides and others started tearing down camp. After Bill and girls headed out I went with Gpa, Ben and Bridger to watch them fish some more. So fun! Within an hour and half they got 12 rainbow trout fish and we were back in the canoe to paddle back to camp.
The lighting and backdrop was AMAZING!!!
We helped Gma and Gpa tear down the rest of camp and Ben pulled the camper out perfectly around the circle and before long we were in our truck heading out of camp and reminiscing about such a wonderful time.

We laughed, some cried, there weren't hardly any bugs, and memories were made! Thanks Gma and Gpa for a great camp trip!!!!
***My own experience with the RV Trailer: Thanks to RedLine I can understand why people love to camp in RV's and Trailers. My own experience with this is something that I will always use. Everyone has there own way of doing things but this is what fit our family the best. It was great to have an enclosed space with modern amenities: ( a real bed, shower, microwave, OUR OWN TOILET, sink with running water, refrigerator, freezer, living area, lots of room, heater and ac). I also enjoy the renting aspect of it. Less maintenance, budget friendly and easily accessible.
