The new normal

Today is day 9 of being a family of four. We are adjusting and loving every moment. It is flying by. Its hard to imagine what life was like before Colter arrived. It seems so natural that he has been with us from the beginning. Bridger is adjust very well and it has been absolutely a joy to watch him take on the big brother role. Of course we have had some meltdowns more to do with no naps and being extremely tired but I think that once we get into a schedule things will adjust.

Colter had his first doctors appointment on Monday. He lost some weight in part because my milk didn't fully come in until Monday morning. We had to get him tested for jaundice and his levels came back that afternoon and doctor recommended using the Billi blanket for two days. So our little glow worm glowed all day and night and by Wednesday at noon his levels went way down and we were able to give back the blanket to Norco. He is a great eater. Loves to nurse and I love to nurse him. We are so in love it is indescribable.

Daddy's push present (or should I say a gift to himself after the baby was born) was purchasing a smoker. It is well known that he is not the best known griller so after being at Aaron and Megan's last Sunday it was determined that we would get a smoker that way we could cook meat without scorching the heck out of it. So yesterday we gave it a try with ribs and the recipe that Aaron gave Ben and sure enough even eating at 9:00pm at night because we had a late lunch, it was so delicious. We ate on the left overs tonight as well.

Gaga has been staying with us since last Tuesday and has been an incredible help. From laundry, to dishes to entertaining Bridger to just being a grandma we sure are enjoying every minute with her. I can't even begin to imagine what it will be like when we have to say good bye on Monday.

The days are flying fast, I am a bit sleep deprived but loving every moment.

Life is good.
