in the eyes of a toddler

We are officially on winter break!

It was a nice feeling waking up today and not having to plan for the upcoming week.

Just cozy up on the couch with my little guy, watching Sesame Street and waiting for daddy to wake up.

When we awoke up yesterday we had quite a bit of snow, while daddy shoveled the driveway Bridger was busy making his creation in the door way with left over wrapping paper rolls.

Meanwhile I finished the last bit of wrapping of presents, although I am still on the hunt for my husbands gift.

I know I am down to the last few days to find the perfect thing.

Yesterday we had friends and family over to watch the Cougars play the Rams. The kids had so much fun, our little guy didn't take his nap at the usual hour of 1pm instead was too busy running around with the other kiddos playing. They all did so good. It was nice to sit back and chat with everyone. Unfortunately the Cougars "coug'd" it and lost their bowl game. Bridger fell asleep at around 4ish and slept till 6am this morning. He did get up at 2am to talk with me about "cookies" but quickly fell back asleep.

On Friday we had planned our family outing night a head of time to go to the UofI vs. ISU basketball game. I called Ben mid day and told him there was going to be a snow advisory and double check to see if he still wanted to go, he said yes and that he had got tickets so how could we not. So I headed home, napped with Bridge and daddy got home around 6:20pm. We headed back out to Boise for the basketball game, the roads were bad, but we were determined to take Bridger to his first "REAL" big boy basketball game. He was mesmerized. When we walked through the double doors to the arena he screamed with excitement, I think it scared the poor ticket lady. He couldn't stop yelling "basketball." So glad we were able to do it. What a memory with our little guy.

This years Christmas will be one to remember. Bridger is curious about all things Christmas and watching his excitement when we sing Christmas songs and talk about baby Jesus, Joseph (or as he refers to "the guy" is pretty wonderful.
