We had a staycation on Saturday. What is a staycation? well according to our definition it is a vacation staying at home but having a blast in the town you live in!
There was so much happening this weekend in Boise that we were busy from sun up to sun down on Saturday. Which meant that any sort of schedule for Bridger was COMPLETELY dismissed.
The staycation started on Friday evening when we had Uncle Bill and cousins Nat and Audrey over for pizza. Then the brothers took the kids to relay for life event that Bill was doing for one of his co-workers. From all accounts it looked like they had a ton of fun. Of course the girls were big helpers and took care of Bridger showing him around and walking with him. so cute. When daddy and Bridger got home his little cheekies were so red I thought maybe he got a little sun burn, nope it was just REALLY hot on the track.
Saturday we got up made a quick trip to Target while daddy mowed the lawn. Then it was off for showers and to get dress and ready for our fun afternoon. We ate lunch at Bardenay, then headed to Eagle for the Wet and Wild parade.
By far the parade was the best one I have ever been to. I have never seen so many children and adults get into it and have so much fun then yesterday. The floats were great, the participation from the whole down was outstanding and we loved every minute of it.
After the parade was finished and we got back to our car, we decided to quickly run home for a little cool down and tried to get Bridger to take a nap, no such luck. Then it was off to downtown for the Boise Twilight Criterum.
We have been going for the last three years and once again it was a fantastic event. We ran into the cousins again which was lots of fun. This year we had pizza before we went to the race and our waiter was such a hoot, perfect for little kids. Bridger and his cousins even made the newspaper.
By the time we got to the race the women were racing and we were able to watch the end of it. Bridge man was just a bit too tired to stay till the main event where the men raced at night.
It was such a great day with so much packed in Bridger slept all night and even took a VERY long nap today before we went to grandma and grandpa's for dinner.
Next week is shaping up to be pretty eventful as well. We have our 3rd year anniversary coming up on Wednesday, the rodeo is in town so we are going to try and do the pancake feed and catch a rodeo in the evening possible on Tuesday night and then we are headed off to Bull Trout Lake for the weekend for our annual family camping trip.
Summer is the best! Have a great week.
