Mr. Picasso has entered our house.
Bridger has been busy coloring up a storm this weekend.
Of course what's not a coloring session without ripping our master piece apart.....
and eating our markers and crayons. Just look closely you can see the marker all over his mouth. Silly boy!
Happy Sunday!
Ben, Alanna and Bridger and Colter. We are a happy family of four and are so excited to experience life through our boys' eyes with two blessing god gave us - Bridger and Colter

Spring Break, play date
It is officially spring break!!!!
And boy and I glad to have the next week off to spend with my little guy.
Yesterday it was the dentist, today we had a play date with Coy, Cane, Brenden and Thomas at Jabbers. Let's just say it was the best one to date.
When you leave the parking lot three hours later and your little one is passed out in the back you know it was successful.
Between the five boys, they played with EVERYTHING. Of course the hit was the grocery store. Bridger couldn't get enough of the grocery cart his size.
The first time I picked him up to walk him over to it he thought that it was time for mommy to put him in the cart, so up went his legs as if to put them in the holes in the seat. Silly boy.
Once he figured out he could push it himself and it would go wherever he wanted he was hot to trot. Putting everything in including pieces of fruit or vegetables that he could grab. Followed by throwing everything out. So fun.
Next week is my week to plan the play date, looks like it will be off to the pool for a little fun in the water!
Have a great weekend and enjoy March Madness GO ZAGS, GO JAY!

1st Dentist
Yesterday Bridger had his first dentist appointment.
He was such a good boy. Of course what's not a trip with Bridger without all the dental hygienist swooning over him. and who does he walk to..... Dr. Payne, the orthodontist.
That's our boy, rawl'n all the ladies up just to walk past them!!!
I didn't have any expectations for a 1 year old dentist visit but boy have things changed. I can remember dreading going to the dentist NOW they have play areas, each room is a different theme, ipads for the older kids, flat screen t.vs so when the child is laying down getting their teeth clean they can choose a show to watch. WHAT? Where was that when I was little. O and of course Bridger's favorite, all the fish tanks that were filled with beautiful tropical fish.
Okay onto the important things. He has four teeth that are in. Two on top and two on bottom, he is cutting the next two on top and his top left molar is cutting too. Dr. said that he is a late bloomer on his teeth but generally speaking that means that Bridger will take better care of his teeth.
It was a fun appointment and we head back to the dentist in 6 months. Way to go big boy!

boys will be boys.... with aunt addie
Yesterday was the last night of parent-teacher conferences and since Ben was out of town I had no one to watch Bridger after daycare.
Aunt Addie to the rescue.......
She not only watched Bridger she watched The Morris boys too so that Lyndsi and I both could be at school for conferences.
The boys were treated to McDonald's and bath time followed up with lots of playing. We are so lucky to have great friends that are only an ask away from helping out.
P.S. Bridger was so worn out he slept AMAZING!

New recipies
Sometime you know when you reflect back on your weekend and you can just smile? Well that's what are weekend was. There wasn't too much going on, we didn't have plans, but we DID have a great family weekend together.
It seems that since we turned the hour forward the days are beginning to get longer which are allowing us to enjoy more time, not as if we didn't have that time before, but more as if we are aware of it. That probably doesn't make sense, but to me it does.
So what did we do this fine weekend?
We did this....
A little of this....
Alot of this....
and of course this.....
Since lent I have not necessarily given something up, but vowed to try and be aware of what we are eating. Our menu has changed at home these last few weeks, Ben and I are much more aware of the importance of healthy eating, and really it wasn't until we had Bridger that we vowed to REALLY make the change.
With two working adults in the household it is SO easy to just say "order a pizza", "Pick up sandwiches" etc, etc. But when a child is in the situation it's important to show them the right choices and of course don't get me wrong, we all need a little fix every once in a while.
So no you won't find me on some crazy diet, no I am not a vegetarian nor am I every wanting to be (I am from Nebraska folks) but I do want to be more aware not only for myself but for my family.
Here are some of the PINTEREST recipes that I pinned and have made over the last few weeks, ALL very good!:

The little professor
This week has been a pretty long one. Not because anything terrible happen, just because it is the last full week till SPRING BREAK. I can feel it, my students can feel it and my family can feel it. Between report cards taking up most of my time, conference next week and one antsy mom ready to unwind for a week we have been patiently waiting till the weekly Friday Fish Fry.
Bridger dressed up with mommy for "causal Friday" both in honor of our dear friend J.L. and sending him good vibes and also because he knew he was going to see his Grandpa.
How cute is he. O and not to forget Bridger is doing a FANTASTIC job with naps at daycare! He is also working on cutting another tooth.
Of course trying to get a picture of this little guy with out walking/crawling at full speed is a little more difficult these days now that he is figuring it all out.

a 1 year old's perspective
This last week we have enjoyed watching our boy turn one and grow more and more.
Friday was a furlough day for me, so Bridger and I headed to the doctors for his 1 year appointment. Which included 4 shoots, a script, lots of jabbering to the doctor and even a sticker for his toughness. He is 23.5lbs (50% percentile) and 31.5 inches long (71st % percentile).
In the evening it was off to the grandparents for our weekly fish fry. We met up with the cousins and enjoyed some adult conversation. It was pretty exciting to sit on the couch and chat away with Becky and then suddenly realize that all three cousins were in the corner down by toys playing so great with one another. It's hard to imagine that our boy is at that age and able to interact with his peers.
The weather is becoming nicer and nicer and the weatherman said that we could even reach high 60's and possible 70's this week. So ready for spring. Bridger and I played in the yard today while we waited patiently for daddy to get home. O how he had fun. We have only been able to ride his four wheeler in the house since the weather has been so cold, so to be able to ride it out in the grass was a a hit.

o and of course what's cooler then wearing paw paws hat out to dinner on Bridger's birthday.
We are eagerly waiting for Spring Break 2013 to get here. Count down....T-7 school days.
