We are off to a great summer vacation. Bridger, myself and Ben left Boise on Wednesday and got to Omaha on Thursday. Bridger has now been to Utah, Wyoming, and Nebraska! We rolled into Omaha and thought forsure everyone would be at work (since that is what everyone said) but we were surpised when we got to the house and Auntie K.K was sitting on the patio in excitment. She tricked us and took the day off to be home and see Bridger!!! Love IT.
No time for sleep and rest it was off to Dad's so he could meet his new grandson. Bridger and grandpa enjoyed many laughs and snuggles. Bridger even managed to roll for grandpa. We spent the afternoon catching up and and sharing stories.
Back to mom's we went. Auntie K said she would watch Bridge while Ben and I tried to get some rest. It wasn't 15 minutes when the garage door open and in came Uncle D.D!!! You should've seen the expression on D's face when he met Bridger for the first time. There is something to be said about the joy a baby brings to everyone. Uncle D was just smitten and couldn't get enough of Bridger. They were pals from the moment he met him.
Mom finally made it home from her busy day at work and Bridger woke right up to the voice that he rememeber. It was Grammy! Grammy didn't walk more then five steps before she snatched up that baby and cuddle all night long with him. O and we found out who has the blue eyes... my own mother (aw how did i not relize that... they aren't as blue as Bridger's but they definitly are on the blue side of the spectrum.)
We had a nice evening at dinner and wrapped up our night with lots of laughs. How good it feels to be back home and see everyone!!!
Friday: Bridger slept great and was only up once to feed! I know we were exhausted so I'm certain he was too. We enjoyed time again at dad's in the morning and then headed to lunch at Granite City. Granite City use to be Ben and my place when we lived in South Dakota. We even managed to keep our "mug club" status. They have the best Idaho Fries ever (waffle fries). Yum Yum. Since it was a Friday around 1pm we seated next to a few lady clubs. These ladies were in love with Bridger. One by one they would come over and tell us how cute and beautiful he was. They would share their stories about their grandbabies! Love little old ladies.
Back home we went and I got to take a two hour nap, Ben went out with Uncle D for a few beers and Grammy got to babysit. When I woke I came down stairs to Bridger laughing and laughing harder then I have ever heard. Grammy found his ticklish spot (right under his rib cage).
Finally it was off to the College World Series. I grew up going to the CWS and so to go to the new Ameritrade Baseball Park was a new experience. The park was beautiful, the weather was gorgous (80 with a cool breeze) and lots of great food, family and baseball.
We couldn't have asked for a better night under the big lights.
We had planned to leave after a few innings since we had Bridger, but much to our delight Bridger was wonderful and sat through the whole game with everyone.
He even managed to make the big screen in the park a few times. What can I say he is one cute baby.
We didn't get home till really late, but in turn Bridger slept THE WHOLE NIGHT!!! 8 hours!!
We are having a great time here in Omaha and so thankful to be able to see all our family and friends.
