I totally jinxed myself. Last night Bridge was up pretty much what felt like the whole entire night. Around 9pm he threw up all over me and it consisted of chunks. Poor guy as soon as I changed his outfit and daddy had him he did it again. Not sure if I over fed him or what the deal was but it was perjectile and off we went to change into outfit number 3, a bath and lots of rocking. He was so tired but just couldn't get to sleep and stay asleep. We were back to waking every 2-3 hours and crying every 10-20 minutes when the paci fell out. It made for a VERY long night and one tired momma this morning. But with a baby you can't sleep in, so off we went to school to work on planning and preparation for next year.
My team is going to implement Common Core so I have been reading up on that most nights and trying to organize my calendar year accordingly. We don't technically have to have it fully implemented till the 2013-14 school year but I thought it would be a good idea to get started and work out any kinks that may arise. I am super excited about these standards and based off of what I have read it seems like this will give every child a baseline of what they need to learn and accomplish by the end of the school year. That way every child (no matter what school, district or state) you live in you will be learning about the common core standards. As a teacher it makes it very challenging when students come in mid-way through the year and have no clue what you are talking about and the expectations prior were not the same as mine. This means additional one-on-one time with that child trying to get him/her caught up and filling in the missing holes. Anyways I will get off my soap box and keep telling myself to stop working so much and just enjoy my summer. Lets be honest though... do teachers really get 3 months off of work??? Haha no not at all, but I sure love to laugh at those people who think so. If only they knew.
Day 2 of summer break and it is officially COLD and gloomy on this June day. It's somewhere in the 50's and I have my sweatpants and sweatshirt on. I can't believe this weather, yesterday it was 90 and today in the 50's.
Off to quickly take a long hot bath before the baby wakes. Enjoy this picture of Bridger and I sound asleep at 6:30am after a long night up.
