Uncle Bri

Yesterday Uncle Brian got to town.We are so lucky that he was able to make it for the family weekend in Donnelly!
Everyone got together last night for Grandma's pizza. YUM, YUM!
The Parsons girls were there to play with baby Bridge and the older adults had fun discussing many topics including Olympics (volleyball Grandpa's favorite) and politics!

We have been very busy with getting the classroom all set up... it is still a work in progress. No pictures yet, but I will post them as soon as I finish (which I must have done before open house next Thursday!). Bridger has accompany me to school everyday this week and was a trooper. There were lots of teachers there to help too!

Today we went to the doctor to get Bridger's face rash checked out. We tried different types of lotions but nothing has worked completely. So it was off to get it checked out. Doc said that she wanted him to first go on soy based formula for when I supplement, then she asked if we had a dog.. YES... she said, "well does the dog sleep in the same room as Bridge, YEP," so she wants us to transition the baby to his own room :( Per doctors orders we are going to try it tonight! I'm a little sad I must say, but I know it will be good for all of us. Doctor gave us a type of lotion to pick up and wants us to try that first before we go the route of steroids. Lastly, weight and height check.... Bridger is growing big and strong and is very close to crawling and sitting on his own soon. Here are his stats:

August 9th 2012
Weight: 17lbs, 11oz (72.60%)
Height: 27 inches  (86.41%)

Bridger did try peas on Tuesday night. He wasn't sure about the consistency though. We will keep trying. Such a big boy!

Off to finish laundry and make the grocery list for this weekend!

Kamiah Picnic

Today Bridger and I headed out with Grandma and Grandpa to the Kamiah Reunion Picnic.
They were kind to invite us, so that Bridger could meet Ben's godmother, Ann Marie!
We had a fantastic time and it was fun to meet everyone that Rose and Rog taught/worked with!
There were a lot of stories and laughter to be had and a wonderful potluck! Bridger was all smiles and even managed a little nap during lunch time.
Wearing the shirt Grandpa got him when they came to meet him for the first time in the hospital. I remember thinking gosh that shirt is SO BIG! Boy has my little boy grown. Thanks Grandpa!
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Parsons for inviting us, we had a great time!

5 months old

To my dear baby boy,

Today you turned 5 months old. It's hard to believe that time has gone so fast. I remember 5 months ago your daddy and I sitting in the hospital room at this time at night having you by our side and enjoying our celebration meal. Mama had steak and daddy had chicken we even managed to get some chocolate cake! I could have never imagine just how much joy you would bring. You are more beautiful today then yesterday and daddy and I love you more then you will ever know. It has been an absolute joy to spend the summer with you! My heart hurts when I think about how our summer is winding down and I am going back to work and you will be down the road with all your friends at daycare. I know you are in good hands and I will try my best to not forget that!

When we found out that you were a boy the doctor said, " yep ALL BOY there." When I think about what it is to have a little boy and how you have changed so much I find myself saying he is most definitely all boy. You are big and strong, you have a wonderful personality already and your smile and laughter are so contagious. When you get mad you don't hold back, literally! When you are happy you shine and when you just need a little mama/ daddy loven' you show us with your beautiful blue eyes.
Helping mom make cookies!

Tonight you are fast asleep because you decided that one nap was all you needed today. You played hard with grandma and grandpa parsons and you even managed to help me set up my classroom some more.

We love you so much and can only begin to imagine what the next 5 months will bring.
Love always,
Mom and Dad

Happy Birthday Boy

Today is daddy's birthday, he turns 29!!!

Ben had a birthday weekend that started off over at Grandma and Grandpa Parsons for chicken tacos and the Olympic opening ceremonies.

Saturday it was off to school to help me get my classroom arranged.

It takes a lot out of a little guy!

Then we went to Murphy's for a birthday dinner (coupon of course!), Sunday it was off to church where Bridger did great he was awake for the whole thing. We did have to break out the picture books during the homily in order to get the little guy quite again, but he never cried just squealed with delight. Following church we came home and all got into bed and took a nice 3 hour nap together. Lastly it was off to Grandma and Grandpa for boiled dinner and some sand volleyball and water polo.

Since daddy has a business trip this week we celebrated last night with his favorite meal... steak and potato's and German chocolate cake.

It was Bridger's first time celebrating a birthday and we were excited to see his reaction to tissue paper! It was a hit. He loved the sound that it made and he was able to grab it himself, we did have to take it away when he tried shoving it into his mouth though.

To the best daddy ever, hope your day is just as great as you are! We love you so much and can't wait for you to get back home. Happy Birthday!

Love,
Mommy, Bridger and Gabby

The Finish

I am going to finish posting our pictures from our vacation that we took at end of June. Enjoy!

movin and shaken'

Around here we are moving and shaken. Bridger is on a "roll" literally. He is rolling like crazy all over the place. Today I sat him up to see if he could sit on his own and he did pretty well. He leaned quite a bit, so I wouldn't technically call it a full sit but it was close.

We are pretty darn tired around here. Baby boy is back to sleeping for 4 hours and then bright eyed and bushy tail ready to play around 1am. But in the big scheme of things I remember just how blessed we are. Nights are long and the days seem to fly by.

Grandpa Parsons stopped by on Tuesday night after his meetings. It's times like this that I feel so grateful that Bridger has family that lives in town. We shared lots of laughs and stories and Grandpa even had some of my homemade lasagna. Now if I could just conveince Grammy to move out here when she retires :)

The opening ceremonies of the Olympics are tomorrow and I can't wait! I love to watch the spectacle and all the athletes. We are pretty excited to watch swimming and gymnastics because I have watched quite a bit of background stories about the athletes on the TODAY show! My guess is that there will a little rivalry between Phelps and Lochte.

I am heading in to work on the classroom this weekend. Ben's coming in too help move the big pieces of furniture. Do I dare say that this summer is coming to an end soon. I am trying not to even let my mind go there. I know it will extremely hard to go back especially with Bridge going to daycare full time and not being able to see him all day everyday, but I just  keep telling myself that it will be good for all us.
