Happy 4th - Parsons Style!

Amazing!

Yesterday was the fourth of July and normally at this time we would be up at Bull Trout camping over the fourth with Ben's family, but since the forth fell on a Wednesday we all stayed in town and celebrated in Boise. Ben and I didn't have much plan but by the end of the day we were in bed by 9 and completely exhausted.

Off to the parade.

It was a beautiful morning, the weather was great and we had a wonderful time... hope this starts a new tradition!!!

 What's a parade without firetrucks. Every little boy loves trucks.

 Awesome - a bar on wheels!!! Boise needs this!


Off to Grandma and Grandpa's for bbq and ice cream. While grandma and Ben worked on making homemade ice cream, Bridger and I found a nice comfy chair and took a good long nap.

 Next it was off to the Ann Morrison Park for a little 4th of July celebration with sidewalk chalk. The pictures that the artist created were amazing!!! Even the youth division/amateur group was great. Bridger was all smiles and did such a wonderful job.

 Lastly it was time to head home. The weather was hot and we all wanted to get back home to enjoy the ice cream waiting in the freezer.

July 4th 2012 - The Parsons

 Milestones:

We started off by trying to implement a new schedule for Bridger since he is now 4 months old. Back to the book that my sister-in-law loaned me. So it was up at 7am eat, play (run to the bagel shop), back home to lay the boy down at 9am in his own crib in his own room. I didn't have high expectations since the last few times I had tried I failed miserably. I rolled up two receiving blankets, laid him on his side and he slept without waking till 10:45am.

Bridger has been taking ALL of his naps in his crib. I can't believe it!!! Way to go Bridge.

At Grandma and Grandpa Bridger finally completed the roll. He now knows how to make a full roll!!! He was with Grandma Parsons when he used the blanket to get some leverage and pushed himself over to complete the roll. There were alot of cheers and clapping.

Lastly a few updates from the doctor:
Bridger had his 4 month well baby appointment he is doing great and the doctor said great things.

Weight: 15lbs 15oz ... 70th percentile
Height: 25 1/2 inches... 71st percentile

He had to get more shots today and it is so tough to watch your baby cry. Glad we don't have to do any more until the next check up in two months.

Olympic Swim Trials

The vacation continued and we headed to the Olympic swim trials. He enjoyed watching the little kids ride on the mechanical shark!!

  Since the swim trails were sponsored by Mutual of Omaha Grammy took us down to the Aqua ZONE during the day

 Bridger was a great trooper and did very well.

 This picture is taken outside of Mutual of Omaha. It was a HUGE statue of a swimmer coming out from the lawn. It was AWESOME.

 Grandma even managed to strike a pose in the atrium under Mutual. Mutual did a wonderful job decorating the entire building for the swim trials!! It was a lot of fun.

While at Grammy's work we got to meet all of her co-workers and we even managed to run into Ms. Lori. I love Ms.Lori, I have known her for 10 years and she is so spunky and energetic!!! I was so glad that she got to meet baby Bridge.

Birthdays

Happy 4th of July!!!

My little sister today turns 21 and my grandma turns 98 today!!!

Since we couldn't be there with them today we thought what better way to celebrate long distance then to get up and take a family photo and give a morning wake up call to Auntie K.K.

One Cowboy, One Friend and a Mustach

While on our vacation Ben was excited that both his schedule and Ryan's schudule would work out so that they could meet up and have a little boy bonding time with a round of golf. The heat was extreme but they managed to play 18 holes and meet us back at the house just in time for me show off our little cowboy. 

 Bridger got a new hat while we went shopping... his first cowboy hat. every boy needs a cowboy hat. How cute is he.

 Bridger was hamming it up quite a bit in front of the boys so of course there was a lot of pictures taken.

 O my o my. My husband. His mustach. Vacation. Do you really think I would let him get away with that on any normal week. HECK NO!!!! But this week he was allowed to do whatever he wanted with his facial hair. And so that meant a nice full mustach! love him.

To finish off the night of cowboys, mustaches and friends Grammy read Bridger one of her books that her dad use to read to her at the bus stop "Cowboy Eddie." Grammy was so surprised at how engaged Bridger was when he was being read to. I tried to explain to her that we read every night at the house and he follows along but it wasn't until she experienced it first hand that she was totally amazed.

Sushi, Shopping and Sleeping (the vacation continues)

My family knows just how much Ben and I LOVE sushi, so on our to-do list of resturants was BABY BLUE.

 We tried several different types of rolls, some extreme but overall it was pretty darn good! The atmosphere was awesome and the drinks were great too.

This was a favorite of Uncle D.D so he was eager to help order most of the food. We tried "hot rocks, mango crab raccon, and lots of sushi.

 After dinner was over we were all pretty tired so back home we went. Grandma spent most of her time cuddling with Bridger and napping with him too. She just couldn't get enough, no matter how many times we said let us take him, she would insist that it was okay and she was bounce him until he calmed down. I'm pretty sure if you asked her she would tell you that she got a pretty good leg and arm workout while we were there.

 While the boys played golf mom and I took Bridge and did a little shopping of our own. A girl can never have enough shoes!!!

 Bridger was a good sport, he hung out with us and took a nice long nap. Love that boy!

Uncle Brian

Once we left Sioux City we headed west to see Uncle Brian at his house. Brian had not met Bridger yet the anticipation of Ben's brother meeting his son was pretty effident. We were very excited to see Brian and all his hard work he has put into his house.

 During the time that we spent up at Uncle Brian's place the boys Skyped Grandma and Grandpa Parsons, followed by a skype session with Bill and Beck to show the progress that Brian has made

 Brian had to give the tour twice so by the last go around he was a season vetran and Bridger and I hung out while the boys went around the house. We got to know both dogs real well!!!

 Uncle Brian showed us fish tank and even managed to get the fish to eat little for us while we were there!

 Meanwhile I went outside to snap a few shots of the exterior portion of the building.

 Towards the end of the visit Bridger was getting pretty tired and worn out. The weather was very hot and with a lot of humity. It took alot out of everyone.

 We were so lucky to be able to spend some time with Uncle Brian. We look forward to when he comes out at the end of July!
